Kaiser Permanente Partners With Microsoft On Web-Based Health Records
Kaiser Permanente, the nation's largest non-profit health maintenance organization, is partnering with Microsoft Corp. to launch a pilot program that will allow Kaiser members to securely store their personal health records on the Web. The partnership, announced Tuesday, will begin with a pilot project open to Kaiser's 156,000 employees, which will run until November. Information currently accessible from Kaiser Permanente's My Health Manager will be transferred into Microsoft's HealthVault consumer health platform. The service will be available to Kaiser's 8.7 million members in nine states and the District of Columbia.

Fruit Tops Snack Items Parents Prepare For Their Kids
Americans are becoming more health conscious when it came to snacks they prepared for the kids. According to findings of the NPD Group, a market research company, fruit topped the list of break-time food given to children below 6, followed by cookies.Twenty years ago, cookies were number one and fruit came in second only. There was also a marked decrease in carbonated soft drinks, ice cream, candy, cake and fruit juice given to the young.
